The Carbon volleyball team finished last season in fourth place in 3A after the State Championship Tournament. They faced Juab last week taking a 3-1 victory and followed that up with a trip to Duchesne on Tuesday, taking the win in straight sets.

Last Thursday the Dinos opened the season on the road in Juab to face the Wasps. All four matches were decided by six points or less and were very competitive. Carbon took the win in the first set by a score of 26-24. Set number two saw the Dinos finish off the Wasps 25-20. Juab came back taking the next set 25-23 and the final set saw the biggest margin of victory when Carbon closed out the match 25-19.

The matches with Duchesne were more of a straight forward affair with Carbon winning in three sets. The Eagles were outmatched, and the Dinos would win 25-11, 25-16 and 25-18.

Carbon will now head on the road to St. George for the Dixie Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Their first match is set to begin at 6:30 and they will face Pine View, a 4A school from the St. George area.

They will return home on Aug. 31 to take on the Union Cougars. The match is set to begin at 6:30.
