The Lady Pirates of Green River have been on quite a tear lately winning two of their last three matches. Last Thursday in a tough meeting with the Wayne Badgers they lost 3-2. On Saturday, they played the Wendover Wildcats at home taking a 3-1 victory.
The match with Wendover was very competitive with the exception of the final set.
In the first set, the Wildcats took advantage and claimed a 25-21 win. Moving in to set two the Pirates would find the offense and push Wendover taking sets two and three with the identical 25-20 score.
In the fourth and final set, Green River would put the Wildcats away for good posting a 25-12 final.
The Pirates sit at 3-5 on the season and are looking forward to the region portion of their schedule. Heading into conference play they currently sit at the top of Region 23 but there is still a lot of volleyball left to be played until the final game of the season in Monument Valley on October 15.
Up next is the always fun match-up with Pinnacle. The two teams will face off on Tuesday in Green River. the match is set to begin at 6:45 p.m..
