
Sarah Meyer Cook, age 79, passed away August 30, 2021. She was born on January 30 1942, in Bridgeland, Duchesne County, Utah, to Frank Fredrick and Letta Murphy Meyer and. She grew up on the family farm.
Sarah graduated from Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah in 1960. She then attended the College of Eastern Utah where she met her husband, George Cook. They were married June 30, 1966 in Wiesbaden Germany; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
She then attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah and obtained her bachelor’s degree in education. Sarah was very independent and adventurous and was always happy to be doing her own thing. She loved teaching and taught in many grades and schools. She taught 30-plus years at Castle Dale Elementary, driving from Wellington to Castle Dale every day. When she retired, she continued to teach at Castle Valley Center for several years.
Sarah was an avid bowler and went on many bowling tournaments and trips with her sisters and teammates. She was a member of the Utah State Western Riding Club for 30 years and loved spending time with family and friends.
Sarah is survived by one daughter and two sons, Debbie, Payson, James (Peggy) Wellington, Kenny, Pocatello, ID; six grandchildren, Justin, Derick (Ashley), Georgann (Jentrey), Shad, Sara, and Bodee; three great-grandchildren, and many loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George; parents; and siblings, Shirley, Wilma, LaRean, Leslie and Illa.

Funeral service, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, 11:00 a.m., Wellington First Ward chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the church from 5-7:00 p.m. and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.
