
Emery Spartan soccer has not begun the season they way they would have liked. Sitting at 2-6 the Spartans started the region portion of their schedule on Tuesday against new comer to Region 12 the Canyon View Falcons. The Falcons entered the contest at 6-3 and found the back of the net four times in the shutout win.
In their previous outing the Spartans struggled with the Maeser Prep Lions, taking a 7-0 loss last Thursday in Lindon.
Canyon View played in the 4A class last season losing in the first round of the State Championship Tournament.
The Falcons posted one score in the first half taking the lead into the locker room. Three more would find home in the second half closing out the Spartans.
For the Falcons, Brooke Davie put it between the post twice and Bethanee Vargas and Hadlee Farrow rounded out the scoring.
Up next is a match-up with the Grand County Red Devils on the road in Moab on Thursday. The Red Devils sit at 3-1 this season. Last season Emery won both meetings with Grand.
They will be home again on Sept. 14 when they will welcome the Dinos to Castle Dale. game time is set for 4 p.m..
