The 35th Annual Helper Outlaw Car Show & Cruise will take place on Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4 at the Helper City Park. Event Coordinator, Mike James stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details of the car show.

The event kicks off with a Friday Night Cruise at 6:00 pm where all the cars will line up before they head out for their nightly cruise.  “Probably up around to Kenilworth and do pictures up at the old store up there, then back to the Conoco Station in Helper and do some pictures and then to the Sinclair Station. But we’re going to have a Poker Walk on Helper Main Street. So all the car show participants will be able to walk down Main Street, go to the shops, which will give the shops some exposure and they’ll get a card and at the end of the Poker Walk, who ever has the best hand will get a prize,” said James. Also taking place this same evening is the Helper’s First Friday celebration so the entire Main Street will be blocked off with other activities taking place along the street.

“Saturday we’ll be registering you know and just be patient because when there are a lot of cars it takes a while to get the car registered. We’re going to follow all COVID rules still even though they aren’t pushing them, we’re going to follow all the six-foot apart with the cars everything. If you’re not feeling good, please don’t show up, I’d love to see you but,” said James. Saturday the car show will begin at 10:00 am running through till 5:00 pm at Helper City Park. The cost to register a car for the show is a $10.00 entry fee.

“Spectators are free, free swimming for your kids. We’ll have some vendors there, food vendors. I think Angel’s Cravings from Helper will be there serving his Mexican food, which is the best this side of the border I’ll guarantee you. Then Tallies and Smallies will be there and she’ll be serving stuff and I think she’ll be having root beer floats. We’ll be having some vendors selling stuff so it’s going to be a good time,” said James. There will be a Pin Up Contest held at 2:00 pm inside the park and everyone is invited to participate in the competition.
