
On Tuesday, the Lady Dinos traveled to Cedar City for their first meeting with the newest member of Region 12, the Canyon View Falcons. Canyon View dropped down from playing in 4A last year and in the first match-up with the Dinos, the Falcons earned the 3-1 win, dropping the Dinos to 6-3 on the season and 1-1 in region play. The Dinos also dropped one spot in the RPI to No. 6.
Canyon View came out in the first half scoring one goal while holding Carbon scoreless. In the second half the Falcons found the back of the net twice.
The Dinos were able to put one goal on the board, from the foot of Amiah Timothy, her 11 of the season.
When the RPI was originally released on Sept. 2, Carbon was in the number six position and the next day after a win against Richfield they climbed to No. 5, the loss puts them back in their original spot, but Carbon has opportunity to climb once again starting next week.
The Dinos have just five games left this season and won’ t play again till Sept. 14 when they will be in Castle Dale to face the Emery Spartans. Following the Emery game they will be on the road for the next two at Richfield and at Grand County.
Carbon will end the season at home when they welcome Canyon View on Sept 28. and then two days later it will be Senior Day as they close the regular season, when they face Emery at home.
