Kathleen Powell Goodin was born July 31, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Earl and Arline Catherine Caldwell Powell. She passed away suddenly on September 8, 2021 at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah at the age of 58.

She graduated from Carbon High School in 1981. She was married June 4, 1983 to Alton “Buddy” Goodin in Wellington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 16, 1988.

She worked for the National 9 Motel as the head maid for 11 years. She enjoyed her time there and made many friends. She later worked for Carbon School District as head custodian at Bruin Point Elementary School from 2006-2015. She took pride in her school to make sure everything was clean and in its place. Due to health reasons, she was no longer able to work and it broke her heart to say goodbye to the kids and her coworkers.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of our Savior and that no matter what trials bring us in this life, we must endure to the end till the day we are called home, a home where families can be together forever.

She had a passion for cross-stitching where she learned the skill from her good friend, Kelly Stalder, who has also passed on. She also prided herself as being a homemaker and keeping her house spotless. She enjoyed the quality time that she got to spend with all of her grandkids. Just like her children, her grandchildren were the light of her world. She prided herself on having a beautiful yard with beautiful flower beds. She enjoyed the outdoors, going on car rides, and in years past always enjoyed the yearly traditional family reunion camping trips at the Powell family reunion, where she would get to see all her aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters. It was the family time that she really craved and enjoyed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alton “Buddy” Goodin and her fur baby, Pepper; mother, Arline Catherine Caldwell Powell; children, Desiree Goodin, Idaho, Nataleen (Woody) Einerson, Roosevelt, Utah, Richard (Lindsey) Goodin, Clifton, Colorado, Stephen (Ryan) Goodin, Kearns, Utah; siblings, Rickie (Wayne) Higgins, Little Rock, Arkansas, Kenneth (Joyce) Powell, Price, Utah, David (Bonnie) Powell, Price, Utah, Larine (Jimmy) Naylor, Sunnyside, Utah, Carolyn Powell Brunker, Eagle Mountain, Utah; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kay, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Detra (Kevin) Erikson, Price, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
