Coming off a 2-1 loss on Tuesday to the Carbon Dinos, the Lady Spartan soccer team was on the road in Cedar City to take on the Canyon View Falcons Thursday.  The Spartans had a difficult time with the Falcon defense and suffered a 6-1 loss.

Canyon View is the No. 7 team with a record of 11-3, and playing their first year as a member of Region 12.

The Falcons came out firing early scoring three goals in the first half and then another three in half number two. Emery was able to find the back of the net once in the second half as well, but it wasn’t nearly enough as Emery lost their seventh straight.

Emery sits at 2-13 and holds the No. 20 spot in the RPI. The rankings will be used at the end of the season for seeding purposes in the 3A State Championship Tournament, which begins on Oct. 9.

Next up the Spartans will be home on Tuesday to take on the Grand County Red Devils. Grand is just 4-3 and is in the No. 12 spot.

The game with Grand will start at 4 p.m. in Castle Dale.
