It took five sets but the Carbon Lady Dinos extending their winning streak to three with a thrilling victory over the Manti Templars Thursday evening in Price.

Stepping out of region play the Lady Dinos earned a 25-19 win the first set of the evening. Manti answered with a 19-25 win in the second, but Carbon again took control with a 25-21 win in the third. The pesky Templars refused to quit, forcing the decisive fifth game with a 26-24 win.

The extra set was all Carbon needed to close the door as they took control and never looked back in with a 15-9 victory.

Thursday’s win moves the Lady Dinos to 16-2 overall on the season, while keeping Carbon in the No. 2 spot in the UHSAA RPI.

It will be a rare three game week for Carbon. Tuesday the Lady Dinos defeated Grand in straight sets at home to move to 4-1 in Region 12 play. The team will receive one night off before returning to the court on Saturday against Canyon View.

Only three region games remain on the schedule for Carbon. Following Saturday’s tilt, the team will travel for a non-region tournament. The final two games will take place Oct. 12 and 19 against Richfield and Emery.
