Last Saturday, the Dinos welcomed the Canyon View Falcons to Price. Back on Sept. 10 Carbon traveled to Cedar City and defeated the Falcons 3-1. The venue didn’t matter because the result was the same, a Dino win this time in straight sets.
Holding a 17-2 record and the No. 2 spot in the RPI, Carbon is headed into the final three matches of the regular season, but first they needed to get past the Falcons.
After being pushed to five sets by Manti on Thursday, the Dinos made quick work of Canyon View taking the first set 25-15. The second and third were just as quick going 25-16 and 25-13.
Carbon heads out on the road for a tournament Friday and Saturday in Richfield. Their first match will be against South Summit, a team from Region 13 out of Kamas.
The two teams met up on a couple of occasions last season with the Dinos taking the first meeting 3-0. The second meeting maybe cause for some revenge as South Summit defeated the Dinos in the 3A State Championship Tournament last year in the third and fourth place match.
After the tournament this weekend things will slow down until the end of the regular season for the Dinos with just two games scheduled for the last two weeks.
Tuesday the 12 will be the last regular season road game against Richfield. Carbon defeated them on Sept. 14 in straight sets.
The Dinos will end the season looking to avenge their loss to the Emery Spartans on Oct.19 in Price on Senior Night. Carbon fell to the Spartans on Sept. 21 in Castle Dale.
