After defeating the Juab Wasps in Price last Wednesday, the Carbon Dinos soccer team headed to Ogden on Saturday to face the Tigers. Entering the game in the No.3 spot in the RPI, the Tigers took out the South Summit Wildcats 8-0 on Wednesday. The teams squared off and it was the Tigers coming away with the 4-0 win.
The Dinos allowed Ogden to score all four goals in the first half of the contest. Junior Emma Flemmet was in goal for the Dinos and collected 10 saves in the loss.
Carbon will be losing five seniors to graduation but will welcome back Beverly Lancaster, Kinley Cowdell, Ada Bradford and Amiah Timothy next season. Timothy ended the season leading the Dinos with 25 goals. Cowdell gathered nine and Lancaster scored six goals. Plus, they will have Flemmet in goal who collected 12 wins, six of them shutouts, this season.
Ogden will now take on the final remaining Region 12 representative Canyon View on Thursday. This was Canyon View’s first season in 3A and they defeated Carbon on both occasions this season by the same 3-1 score.
The winner of that match will face the winner of the Morgan and the Real Salt Lake Academy for the State Championship at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.
