Emma Beatrice Holley passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, October 22, 2021. After a long and fulfilling life, dedicated to her loved ones, Emma is now reunited with her family on the other side.
Emma Was born in Hinckley Utah, to William and Mabel Beach on October 5, 1930. Often referred to as Pocahontas, she would run wild through the fields, work side by side her daddy on the ranch and would never shy away from a good dare from the boys.
Emma gave birth to her first son, Terence Rodney Peterson, and instantly found the meaning of true love and her purpose on earth. In her late teens, she met Mirl Holley, who swept her off her feet and onto the dance floor. Mirl and Emma were soon married and shared many adventures across their 57 years of marriage together. They shared a love of horses, road trips, dancing, and the outdoors, and were blessed with four children: Clifford Mirl, Sandra Lee, Steven J. and Franklin Edward. Later in life, Emma met her compassionate companion, Norman McKendrick, and they shared many years of happiness and love.
Emma had many talents and exceeded at every task set before her. She was an exceptional and respected waitress, horsewoman and trainer who never shied away from hard work. Mirl and Emma bred quarter horses and were well-known in the equestrian community. Emma enjoyed bowling, cooking, over-feeding her grandchildren, and participating in the star riders. But those who knew Emma knew her true enjoyment were her duties as a mother. She was a supportive and consistent pillar of strength for all who needed her, always making time to show those she loved how deeply she cared.
Whether you received a package of her coveted Christmas candy, that perfect gift you didn’t know she knew to buy, that card in the mail that truly spoke to you, or the highly anticipated (and slightly off-key) “Happy Birthday” serenade, there is no question that Emma was the definition of the most loving and diligent mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her brother, Jim (Vicky) Beach; sister, Pat Preston; sons Terence (Cheryl) Peterson, Steven (Barbara) Holley; daughter, Sandra (Rick) Sergent; daughter-in-law, Sharon Holley; partner, Norman McKendrick; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Emma was preceded in death by her father, William Beach; mother, Mabel Carter Beach; brother, Bill Beach; sisters, Alice Spor and Mary Tucker; and sons, Clifford and Frank Holley.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to granddaughters, Melissa Holley Marroquin and Amanda (Cameron) Paiz, for their immense support and love.
Per Emma’s wishes, no services will be held. A private inurnment with the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Emma online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
