
Sam Joseph Trujillo, 69, passed away October 24, 2021 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.
He was born August 2, 1952 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado to Sam and Josephine Martinez Trujillo. On November 6, 1971, he married JoAnn Martinez in Helper; they later divorced. Married Cherrie Fisher, later divorced. On February 15, 2012, he married Penny Lopez in Price, Utah.
Sam was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1971. He was a proud and dedicated member of the United Mine Workers of America, Deer Creek Local. Sam enjoyed fishing, camping, riding his 4-wheeler and Harley Davidson. He cherished the memories shared with his family and especially his dear friend Lavon Anderson. Sam will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Trujillo, Price; sons, Sammie Joe (Anna) Trujillo, Travis Fisher, Price; step-children, Rose Fisher, Salt Lake City, Ryan Cranford, Price, Melody Cranford, Price; sisters, Irene Trujillo, Price, Lucy Herrera, Price, Ernie Herrera, Price; half-sisters, Rosine Trujillo and Maxine Trujillo, both of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Misty Lynn Lindsey; brothers, Richard and Arthur Herrera; and two beloved great-granddaughters, Harmony Trujillo and Sage Lindsey.
Funeral service, Thursday, October 28, 2021, 2:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.
