The Lady Dinos  opened up state tournament play Wednesday at Utah Valley University. It was definitely an up and down day for Carbon after suffering a five set loss to the Richfield Wildcats  in their opening game which dropped them into the consolation bracket. The Dinos then would bounce back with a win against the Manti Templars advancing to the next round.

With the loss to Richfield the best that Carbon can now finish is sixth place. The match with Richfield was a dog fight, in fact in their final meeting of the regular season the Wildcats got the best of the Dinos 3-1.

This meeting with Richfield started with the Wildcats taking the first set 25-22. Carbon battled back in sets two and three 28-26 and 25-18. Richfield would regroup and take the final sets 25 -20 and 15-4.

The loss dropped them down into the lower part of the bracket where they faced the Manti Templars. On September 2 these two team faced each other with Carbon coming out on top 3-2.

In this match, the Dinos got down to business early winning in straight sets 25-21, 25-21 and 25-13.

With the win Carbon will now play Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. and will face Layton Christian Academy.
