
Jess Christiansen finished in third place in all of 3A on Wednesday at the State Championships at Rose Park as the cross country season came to an end. The boy’s team finished in fifth place overall. Th Lady Spartans didn’t place in the team competition however Adaley Lester and Kallee Lake both took part in the race.
Christiansen finished with a time of 15:59 just .09 behind first place finisher Jack Blodgett of Ogden’s first place finish. Richard Crane of Richfield High School finished second. Christiansen and Paul Squire and Jett Davenport of Union made up the top five individual performers.
Camden Larsen (16), Merritt Meccariello (26), Jack Christiansen (50), Byron Christiansen (56), Dillan Larsen (60) and Hayden Christiansen (67) all took part in the race for the Spartans, that consisted of over 95 runners.
Ogden took the top place on the boy’s side as well followed by Richfield, Union, Carbon and Emery.
Adaley Lester who finished in 47th and Kallee Lake, who came in 71st were the only two competitors for the Spartans on the ladies side. There were over 90 runners that took part.
Ethan Stevens of Juan Diego claimed the top spot in 3A, with a time of 19:28. Beverly Lancaster of Carbon, Sadie Nielsen of Manti, Lydia Forsyth of Canyon View and Jaylee Jenkins of Union were the top ladies individual finishers.
Overall it was Ogden that took the top spot on the ladies side. Carbon, Morgan, Canyon View and Manti rounded out the top five.
