Jarom Herbert Worthen returned home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the age of 45. Jarom was the first child of Ralph and Loretta Parker Worthen. He was born May 29, 1976 in Price, Utah.
Jarom grew up in Ferron, except for two years when his family moved to Cedar City to attend school. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Independence Missouri Mission. He had a strong and lasting testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Jarom married his true love, Shirlee Rose, on November 29, 2003 in Murray, Utah where they blended their family of six children, Dyson, Shalynn, Parker, Tyse, Jarom B. and Taevyen.
Jarom worked for several engineering companies and was presently working for Skyline Electric Company where he designed the electrical and lighting for many buildings. He worked on several temples, including the Rexburg Temple and he wanted to do the plans for the Rome Italy Temple but was not able to. In addition to temples, he also worked on many large buildings such as the Amazon distribution center in Salt Lake, the government data collection center in Bluffdale, the Facebook data collection center in Eagle Mountain, Sportsman’s Warehouse, and the Aquatic Center in Castle Dale, just to name a few of the buildings he designed the electrical and lighting for.
Jarom was an avid weight lifter and would go to the gym every morning with Shirlee to lift weights and work out. He enjoyed working on cars and making sure they were running safe for his family to drive. Jarom would watch YouTube educational shows to expand his knowledge and learn how to make things. One of the latest things he learned how to do was make holsters for guns and knives. He would design and sew together leather for a specific gun or knife and each hole was carefully punched and sewn by hand.
Jarom never stopped learning and he could tell anyone many tiny details about cars, trucks, motorcycles and many other things. His pride was spending time with his family, camping, fishing, going to hockey games and watching his boys play hockey.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Shirlee Worthen, West Valley, Utah; his children, Dyson Gorman, Salt Lake City, Utah, Shalynn Gorman (Nolan), Herriman, Utah, Parker Worthen, Price, Utah, Tyse (Hannah) Gorman, Salt Lake City, Utah, Jarom B.
