USU Eastern Geary Events Center has got a calendar full of upcoming concert events that is sure to be appealing to everyone in the community. Event Services Coordinator, Braden Nelson stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the information.

On Friday, November 5 at 6:30 pm in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Ballroom there will be a 1940s Dinner and Dance featuring the Benson Sisters. “So the Benson Sisters they’re actually three sisters and they cover 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, swing, big band, Andrew Sisters type stuff. They’ll be on campus providing live music as part of a dinner and dance,” stated Nelson. The Benson Sister love to get the audience laughing and dancing. Their vintage costumes/uniforms, fancy hair/makeup and epoch old tunes magically take you back in time.

There will be an opportunity to see actual World War II artifacts displayed by the Utah Military History Group, including a great photo op with a WWII Jeep. “So we’re going to have actual uniforms, equipment kit that was used in WWII, 75-80 years ago, stuff you would only see in a museum that you can actually get up close and personal with. It’s all personal collection, people that are very passionate about the subject and make sure that its maintained, kept clean and in good working order,” said Nelson. The evening’s event will also feature a dinner which is included in the ticket prices. Ticket prices online are $17.00, at the door $20.00, couples $35.00, active-duty military/veterans $15.00 and it’s free to any WWII and Korean War Veterans. On November 12, the Sympholynn Acoustic Strings will take the stage at 7:00 pm. “So they’re a string quartet based out of Las Vegas and they’ve actually played with some pretty A-list talent including Journey, Celine Dion, Madonna. They’re building a concert specifically for us, for our area. They are going to be playing original compositions, some classical, some pop, it’s going to be a great, great concert,” said Nelson. He hasn’t been here since the Geary has been remodeled and he’s excited to come back and see it,” stated Nelson.
