The Annual St. Anthony Catholic Carnival will be held at the Helper Civic Auditorium located at 22 South Main on Thursday, November 4 with a Turkey Dinner and Saturday, November 9 with Mexican Dinner. Because of the COVID pandemic, the dinners will be take-out only and the annual auction will be conducted online at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church’s Facebook page.

“Yea, we did not know if COVID restrictions would change and what the rules would be all the way in November so we’re not able to do our traditional Bingo and booths in the auditorium carnival this year. But we did figure out that we could have our Turkey Dinner and Mexican dinner as take-out only this year to do it safely, and we’re able to do our big raffle, and it’s bigger than ever with 23 prizes,” stated Event Representative, Erica Kardelis. The dinner’s will be distributed thru a drive-thru system at the Helper Civic Auditorium on Thursday and Saturday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The annual Turkey Dinner kicks the festivities off on Thursday, November 4. “Thursday, November 4 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the auditorium on Main Street in Helper that is our Turkey Dinner, roast turkey and all the trimmings. Adults are $15.00, children under 12 are $8.00. They are asking for pre-orders, call (435) 650-6392 with how many meals and what time you want to pick up,” explained Kardelis. Also taking place during the dinner there will be individuals walking around selling the Big Raffle and Quilt tickets for a chance to win. Individuals who wish to see the list of items for the Big Raffle and Quilt giveaway can see that on the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Facebook page.

“The Mexican Dinner is being run in the same way. It’s on Saturday, November 6, also 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, also in the auditorium. It’s Chile Verde burritos, with beans & rice, I also heard they are going to give you salsa and chips. Adults are $11.00, children under 12 are $7.00. Pre-order phone number is (435) 820-4232,” said Kardelis. All the proceeds earned from the dinner and the raffle will go towards the church’s expenses and charitable donations.
