Our beloved Momma, Grandma, and Great-Grandma (Granny B) passed away peacefully with her 3 girls and grandchildren by her side; She always lived life to the fullest, leaving a void in our hearts that will never be filled, but we find comfort in knowing what an amazing reunion in heaven she had.

At 19, Betty married Johnny Gutierrez, together they had 3 wonderful girls, Trish, Rosalie, and Helen. They later divorced but remained friends, later in life she married Frank Martinez and spent the last 17 years with him before his passing last year.

Betty was extremely close with her grandkids, Shannon and Steven, and her two great-grandkids Dylan and Gigi, who she loved more than anything in the world. They will especially miss her special visits to each state they moved to. A special thanks to Matt Montoya who she loved like her own, and always said he was the son that she never had.

Before retirement, Betty worked at Farlaino’s Café for 27 years, even after retirement she was always on the go.  She looked forward to her Thursday night out dinners, her Wendover trips, bingo nights, camping trips, and playing cards with her family.  Her favorite dessert was a Michelob Ultra, and she made the absolute best homemade tortillas and chili. She loved everybody, and everyone that crossed her path fell in love with her just as much. She loved her jewelry and her New York Yankees; and always looked forward to getting her nails done by Melissa Rogers. We could go on and on about how wonderful this special lady was, but if you knew her, you already know.

She is survived by her daughters, Trish Frandsen (Sinsel), Rosalie Gutierrez (Dennis Pace),  Helen (Leon) Crandall; step-daughter, Jerrylynn Martinez-Niederhauser (Brett); grandchildren, Shannon (Joshua) Pierce, Steven Cloward; great- grandchildren, Dylan and Gigi; brother, Joe (Connie) Montoya; sister, Lydia (Mike) Zamantakis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joe La Luz and Ricadita Marina Montoya; husband, Frank Martinez; brothers, Joe A. Montoya (Totch) and Erlindo A. Montoya; sisters, Benedita Lorine, Marie Teresa, and Doris Benedita.

As per Betty’s wishes, there will be no services. The family will hold a celebration of life with close friends and family at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
