The Utah State University Extension’s HEART Initiative will be hosting an evening of education and dinner for Carbon County residents to talk about the current Opioid Crisis. This free webinar event will be held on Thursday, November 11 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. HEART Initiative Coordinator, Ashley Yaugher spoke over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to share all the details of the dinner.

“The USU Extension’s HEART Initiative we’re really excited to present this Community Opioid Education Dinner again. It’s going to be delivered online as a webinar, as you said, we’ll be talking about the current state of the opioid crisis in our community, as well as, real world ways that we can help to support loved ones, learning about available resources locally,” explained Yaugher. Organizers have developed a resource booklet that lists many agencies/organizations in our area to assist those in need. The booklet will be given to participants in their event swag bags.

“So you must pick up your swag bag at the Minder’s Trading Post the day of our presentation. So November 11 between 4:45 pm and 5:45 pm over there is Sunnyside because that has the passcode for the event that will get you into our online webinar, once you have that it’s very simple and very easy to get into the event. We’re really excited to share all of that information and those resources and those bags,” explained Yaugher. The evening’s dinner is being sponsored by Miner’s Trading Post at 123 Market Street in Sunnyside.

Tickets are free for community members 18 years and older and include dinner. “We have a very easy, quick online registration process.
