Following a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer, Kenny Defa, 74, passed away peacefully November 17, 2021 in his home in Huntington, Utah. He was surrounded by his wife of 52 years and his eight children.

Kenny was born on April 13, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harry and Donna Defa. He was the third of their six children. After Harry passed away in 1953, Donna moved her children back to Bountiful, Utah to be close to family. When Kenny was 12, his mother met and married Guy G. Judd and had two more children. Kenny was a role model and mentor to his siblings and everyone knows how much he loved his mother.

Kenny was drafted to the Army in 1966, and served until 1968. When he returned home, he married the love of his life Fama Esther Nielsen. The two of them made their home in Huntington canyon where they raised their nine children. Kenny worked as a coal miner from 1968 until his cancer made him too weak to endure.  He was a hard worker and ensured he passed his strong work ethic to all of his kids.

Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising and competing pigeons and riding across the country on his Harley with Fama. He loved his family immensely, and absolutely enjoyed having his grandkids around.

Kenny is survived in legacy by his wife, Fama, his children, Randy (Camie), Brenda, Kenna (Mike), Krista (Rob), Jeremy, Kurt (Nicole), Jacob, and Marisa (Shaun), 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Donna Defa; his daughter, Brittany; and a grandson Jerreon.
