The small town of Helper comes alive during the Christmas season with the Annual Christmas Town Celebration’s Light Parade. This year will mark the 32nd year for a pretty amazing holiday attraction that has become a tradition for many families in the Castle Country area.
This year’s parade will be held on Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4 at 7:00 pm. Saturday is the busiest day because the city hosts many activities throughout the day. “Saturday, we have activities all day starting at 8:00 am, we have Breakfast with Santa, and it runs till 11:00 am. It’s another great opportunity for your kids to have a sit-down chat with Santa, let him know what they want for Christmas and you can get a good breakfast at the same time,” said Event Organizer, Mark Montoya. The annual breakfast event will be held at the Helper Civic Auditorium.
Then at 4:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday there will be the annual chili dinner held at the Helper Civic Auditorium. “Dinner starts serving at 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm because the parade starts at 7:00 pm. It’s great food, Brenda makes great homemade chili, it’s not from a can,” stated Montoya. This is a great opportunity to warm-up before going to Main Street to enjoy the parade.
There is still plenty of time to enter a float into the parade which is a great way to advertise your business or organization for free. “We are still accepting applications, we have no deadline, you can just show up with you float and we’ll let you in the parade. If you have any questions about it, you can call me at (435) 650-4180 or you can go to our Facebook page, Utah’s Christmas Town and there’s a website on there that you can download the application and the parade guidelines and you’re welcome to join our parade,” stated Montoya. Guests should keep in mind that on Saturday following the parade there will be a Christmas Fireworks Show choreographed to music on KRPX 95.3 FM The Peak.
