Pinnacle sophomore Cole Barton scored 20 points leading the Pinnacle Panthers basketball team to their second straight win Monday in Springville when they faced the Merit Preparatory Academy Knights.  Last season, these two teams faced off three times with the Panthers coming out on top in every contest.

The Panthers squad seems to be playing more of a team game this season, with just eight players on varsity everyone has been a contributing factor in both Pinnacle wins.

Along with Barton’s 20 points he grabbed two rebounds. Ryker Howell and Anthony Shumway both dropped eight points with Shumway collecting nine boards and Howell three. Michael Schmitz added seven rebounds and Jonathan Kessler dished out four assists.

The Panthers welcome Piute to Price on Friday night. The following weekend they will be on the road in Richfield for the 1A Preview at the Sevier Valley Center.

At the preview they will face Tintic and Telos. Pinnacle already faced Telos in the first game of the season with Telos taking the 47-37 win. Going back to last season the Panthers faced Tintic taking the 74-42 loss.

After the game with Piute the next time the Panthers will be home is for the Pinnacle Panther Classic Dec 16-18.

The game on Friday will start with the girls at 5:30 and the boys taking the court at 7:00 p.m..
