After a season where the Dinos went 12-5 and lost in the quarterfinals of the 3A state tournament to eventual champion Ogden, Carbon junior defender Beverly Lancaster was selected to the 3A all-state second team last week. Sophomore Amiah Timothy and junior Kinley Cowdell were also given Honorable Mentions for their play this season.
Lancaster is no stranger to all-state honors as she has received a mention in each of the last three years. Her freshman year she was given an Honorable Mention and then last year she also was named to the second team.
Lancaster’s junior campaign saw her put up six goals from the defender position and five assists giving her 17 points last season.
Timothy led the team in goals scored this season with 25. This was her first all-state mention, it was also the first for Cowdell who added nine goals throughout the season for the Dinos.
The All-State team selections are voted on by coaches in the classification. The Deseret News selected Ogden sophomore midfielder Neveah Peregrina as the Most Valuable Player from 3A for the 2021 season. Emily Blackford goalie for Ogden was named the Most Valuable Player during the playoffs.
