The Carbon Dinos have been enjoying the start of the season by not having to leave the friendly confines of their own gym. On Wednesday night they played the final of their first four at home against the South Sevier Rams. Without one of their main contributors Rylan Hart, the Dinos struggled at times to find offense and fell behind in the second quarter ultimately losing 63-46.

Hart, one of Carbon’s leading scorers was ruled out at the beginning of the game with an injury that looks to keep him sidelined until January. Junior Chet Anderson, who started in his place put up 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. As a team Carbon ended the game shooting 33% from the field and also committed 16 turnovers.

The second quarter was where the Rams did the most damage outscoring the Dinos 25-7, doubling up the Dinos at the half 42-21. The Dinos would get as close as 13 in the fourth but had no answer for the hot shooting of the Rams from behind the arc, who collected 27 points from threes.

Jackson Griffeth was steady once again for Carbon with 14, four rebounds two assists and five steals. Jordan Fossat dropped 11 with a pair of assists and steals and Ashton Ferguson pulled down six rebounds.

Carbon will now become road warriors as they will not be back on the floor in Price until Dec.17.

They will first travel to Richfield this weekend for the 3A Preview tournament at the Sevier Valley Center. Following the weekend action they will have an away game at North Sanpete and one more with South Summit before returning home to face 5A Uintah.

The contest with Uintah is set for a 7:00 start.
