The Dinos were back on the road again on Wednesday night in Mount Pleasant to face the North Sanpete Hawks. The Hawks were a perfect 5-0 headed into the contest with Carbon and added one more win to their total taking a 58-41 victory.

This game was really a tale of two halves. In the first quarter the Dinos played even with the Hawks in fact taking a three point lead into the locker room.

In the second half , the Dinos could not keep pace with North Sanpete getting outscored in quarter three by eight and then by 12 in the final quarter.

Jackson Griffeth scored 14 for the Dinos adding three assists and two steals. Griffeth has been a steady presence for Carbon averaging 11 points per game this season.

Jordan Fossat added ten and dished out two steals and Braxton Stevenson came off the bench to score eight with three rebounds and two assists. As a team the Dinos shot 30.8% from the field compared to North Sanpete’s 45.1%.

The Dinos started the season winning their first two but have lost four of their last five. With three of their next four games on the road against opponents with a combined 9-11 record this maybe a time to make a move before beginning Region 12 play in January.

The next three games for the Dinos are very winnable up first is South Summit. Last season these to locked up with Carbon coming out on top by two 59-57. The only team these two have both faced this season is the Union Cougars, with Carbon beating them by three and South Summit losing to the Cougars by four.

After that Carbon will play it’s final home game of 2021 when they take on Uintah on Friday Dec. 17. Last year the Dinos lost to them in Vernal 53-42.

The Dinos will end 2021 on the road in Nephi when they take on the defending 3A State Champion Juab Wasps.

The game against Uintah on the 17 will tip-off at 7.
