The Price Boys & Girls Club is hosting a Clothing Drive during the holiday season so Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Program Director, Bailee Thompson to discuss the details of the clothing drive.

Right now, the Boys & Girls Club are gathering gentle used coats and clothing items to help other children in the area. This clothing drive is a great way for students who attend the Boys & Girls Club to learn about compassion for their peers. “They will definitely help us kind of go through the clothes, maybe put them in different like coats, pants, hats, kind of sections and then they will be going with us to donate them so they get to see the whole process,” said Thompson. So far the students are in awe of how much the community has donated thus far. The deadline to make a donation is December 30 and all donations can be dropped off at the Boys & Girls Club at 60 East 100 North in Price.

There is also a lot of learning that goes on at the Boys & Girls Club from homework help, to STEM projects and for the teens there is a wonderful program called Diplomas to Degrees. “It’s a great program, it’s basically preparing our teens for college and what kind of degree they want to get,” said Thompson. This program has opened the door for many students who may have never thought of continuing their education after high school.

This after-school program is a great way for students to gather with one another in a safe environment when not in school. There are many fun activities that the students can enjoy as a member of the Boys & Girls Club. “So for our teens we have air hockey, we have pool, and we have four video game consoles. Juniors also have foosball, air hockey, and both groups get to share a VR,” explained Thompson. Any parents who would like to enroll their student in the Price Boys & Girls Club can contact them at (435) 637-6066 or stop by the club for more details.
