As the holidays arrive and the year is slowly coming to an end Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Price City Council Members Rick Davis and Terry Willis to talk about the city’s road construction projects that took place over the year.
Many folks noticed over the summer months several road construction projects taking place around the city, especially the project on 300 East. “I know people thought that all we had this summer was sunshine but we had some storms in there that came in lifted some storm water pipes, things like this, washed away the gravel and stuff. It really extended the period that we were trying to do the construction on 300 East and we were able to not only do 300 East but also the road in front of the swimming pool, all the way up past Pioneer Park,” stated Davis. This project took a bit longer than expected and the city appreciates the community for showing them patience during the road construction.
There is still a few things that need to be finished up on 300 East as Willis explains, “On either side of where we did the project the roads still needs a little attention, luckily not a lot. So in this next year we are looking at doing a milli overlay on that which is a fairly minor treatment, shouldn’t take a long time, of course we didn’t think the other project would take a long time, but this really are fairly quick projects to complete.” There will be restriping done, plus bike lanes will be installed from 100 North to 900 North which ends up near the biking trails on Wood Hill.
There are still roads within the city that need attention and those have been looked by city officials you have developed an inventory list of all the roads in the city. “With the inventory, the prioritization list, we’re going to present that to the public, and say this is our first step in doing these roads. Do these roads that we’ve chosen meet what the public thinks are high priority roads. From there than we’re going to approach the public and say now we need to fund these, we need to step up a little bit and come up with a way to complete these road projects,” stated Willis. More information about how these road projects will be funded will come at a later time next year. The city will be sure to share the information with the public when it comes available.
Both Davis & Willis wanted to wish everyone in the community a Happy Holiday, Stay Safe and Healthy. To stay informed on the happenings taking place at Price City visit their website at https://www.pricecityutah.com/
