The Spartan girls basketball team was back on the court on Tuesday night to face the Delta Rabbits. Winning six of their last eight games, the Spartans used a big second quarter to take a lead and carry it through to the end winning the contest 46-34.

Falling behind to Delta at the end of the first quarter 9-7, the Spartans used an 18 point second quarter and 10 point third quarter to finish off the Rabbits and take the 12 point win.

Senior Tambrie Tuttle shined for the Spartans with 16 and pulled down four boards. Tuttle has been averaging almost 12 points per game this season and has been a steady force for Emery along with Baylee Jacobson, another of the senior leaders on this team. Jacobson scored five to go with her two steals and one assist in the win. Tylee Norton dropped in 13 and also pulled down four rebounds.

Now sitting at 8-2, Emery pushed their winning streak to five in a row with the win. The last loss for the Lady Spartans was back on Dec. 3 in a loss to Fruita Monument at the Shannon Johnson Classic in Vernal, since then they have average nearly 60 points a game and held their opponents under 35.

Up next for the Spartans is another home contest with the North Summit Braves on Thursday. The Braves sit at 2-3 on the year. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
