Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Mayor Lenise Peterman to talk about the happenings taking place in Helper. She came in to discuss the Light Parade, Rio Theatre Concert and future grants.

The annual Helper Christmas Electric Light Parade was held the first weekend in December and it was a huge hit again this year. “It was amazing, the floats were just stellar this year, I thought they really took it up a notch and it was a lot of fun, which is always is so we were excited to host,” said Mayor Peterman. City Officials appreciate all those individuals, families, businesses and organizations for being a part of the celebration this year.

The Rio Theatre is hosting a Classical Christmas Musical Concert on Saturday, December 18 at 7:00 pm.  “We really have done such a wonderful job upgrading the Rio with Kenny Driggs and West Coast Show Support that we’re able to host events of this nature where people actually want to come to Helper because of the improved sound system, the ambiance of the theater and the vibe of the town, so we’re honored to have them here,” said Mayor Peterman. There will be many talented musicians in attendance to make this concert extra special. This event is sure to get everyone who attends into the Christmas spirit.

The city is excited to team up with Castleview Hospital to implement some riverwalk repairs and upgrades. “We actually have taken out the bridge over the small ravine. It was really in terrible condition, so it goes to the health of the community, how people utilized the walk-way and walk, and we thought that was a great tie end to Castleview, who is, of course, they’re primary concern are the health of our citizens,” stated Mayor Peterman. There will also be some beautiful entryway pillars installed to highlight the area.
