Carbon boys basketball found themselves on the road on Monday night to take on the defending 3A state champion Juab Wasps in Nephi. In a highly compettitive match-up that would go in to overtime the Dinos fell behind and were forced to foul and send Juab to the line where the Wasps made their free throws taking the 68-60 win.

The first half of the game was played very close with Juab nursing a one point lead headed into the locker room at the half 24-23. The third quarter is where the Dinos made their move outscoring the Wasps 17-7 in the period and going into the final quarter up by nine.

The fourth quarter and overtime period were all about Juab though , as the Wasps outscored Carbon 25-16 in the final eight minutes to tie the game at 56. In the overtime Juab found a way to put up 12 points on the board, mostly from the line as Carbon was forced to foul to try to get the ball back.

Jackson Griffeth put up 26 points, coming off his 30 point effort against Uintah last Friday.

Chet Anderson put up 18 and Braxton Stevenson added 14 for the Dinos in the loss.

The Dinos head into the Christmas break 3-7 and have yet to enter their region schedule.

They will be back on the floor on January 7 when they travel to Spanish Fork to face American Leadership Academy.

The Dinos will begin their region schedule on January 12 as they travel to Moab to take on Grand. They will be back on their home floor the following Friday when they will welcome Canyon View to town.
