Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Jean, 82, passed away on December 31, 2021. She had been battling dementia for several years.
Mary Jean was born December 14, 1939 in Helper, Utah to Woodruff Willard Peacock and Almira Barzilla Brinkerhoff. She married Clark J. Killian on April 25, 1960, and was later sealed in the Los Angeles California Temple.
Mary Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her loves is music and she was involved with music from a very young age. She played and accompanied for many church services. Mary Jean played for many people, for solos, choir numbers, special musical numbers and many other and additional opportunities to share her talent of music. The song “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” will always be a special song, no one plays that song on the organ with the bells and chimes like she did. One of her favorite musical activities was singing in a Barber Shop Quartet.
She was very generous with her time. She loved to serve and did it with a loving attitude. Mary Jean was very talented and was a great cook and baker. Clark and Mary Jean owned and operated a bakery in Price, Utah for a short time. She was a seamstress and loved to quilt. She made hundreds of quilts for herself, family, friends, and even friends of her kids. Every year during harvest time, Mary and Clark worked together in the garden and canned a variety of home-grown produce. Mary Jean worked for over 25 years for the State of Utah Division of Water Rights.
Clark and Mary Jean had 5 children—Scott Killian, Peggy (Richard) Rasmussen, Garth Killian, and Cathy (Travis) Livingston, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mary Jean is preceded in death by her parents Woodruff Willard Peacock and Almira Barzilla Brinkerhoff Adams; brother, Bryce Willard Peacock; sister, Karen Peacock Anderson; son, Bruce J Killian; and grandson Orion Jerry Livingston.
The family wants to express gratitude to Symbii Home Health, especially Mandie, Sandy, and Whitney who were so wonderful with the care that they gave Mary Jean.
