freezer-meals

This month’s USU Extension Quick & Easy Cooking segment is a special event featuring Freezer Meals. This will take place on Wednesday, January 12 at 6:30 pm. Extension Assistant Professor, Christina Pay took time to come to Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details that will fit any grocery budget.

“In addition to saving money, you’ll have meals in your freezer that you can pull out, you know quickly, put them in your crock pot if you want in the morning, have a full meal ready for you at night. It’s just easy and you can prepare ahead of time so you don’t have to stress over making dinner,” stated Pay. Freezer meals are a great way to quickly feed your family with the bulk of the work already done.

This Quick & Easy Cooking segment will not be shared online and there is a fee this time around to attend that class that is being capped off at 30 participants.  “The class is $25.00 and you’ll register on https://www.eventbrite.com/ and for the $25.00 you’re going to get a Swag Bag that will have different items in it used to prep meals, so you’re not going to go home empty-handed. Plus, we have some great door prizes that we are going to offer. We’ve got a crock pot, we’ve got two of the vacuum seal and then we’ll have a few other things as well,” explained Pay. The meals that will be prepared at the event will also be given away as prizes too.

The meals are being presented by Carbon High School’s CTE Teacher, Troy Chilcott who will share meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “These meals you’ll be able to do either in Crock Pot or Instapot, they are very versatile, so whichever you perform.  We will also show how you can prep them ahead of time using the Crock Pot or an Instapot. Most people are looking for easy meals that they can just throw together and so this is one of those tools,” said Pay. Registration is currently going on now through https://www.eventbrite.com/ and spots are filling up quickly. The event will be held at the USU Extension Classroom at 751 East 100 North, Suite 1700 in Price. This event is being hosted by USU Extension, and partners CARE Coalition and Castleview Hospital.
