Ray Elliot Anderson, 96, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2021, surrounded by family.

Ray was born in Manti, Utah on July 8, 1925 to Peter Henry Anderson and Martha Elizabeth Wride. At the age of 13 his family moved to Price, and at the age of 17 Ray joined the U.S. Navy during WW II. He served in the Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1946 after 3 ½ years of service.

On July 19, 1947, Ray married the love of his life, Ardath Pilling. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple in 1999. Ray was an incredibly hard worker and was employed in the coal mines, oil rigs, JC Penney, and finally retired from U.S. Fuel as the mine cashier after 36 years of employment. From 1953-1963, Ray and Ardath lived in Hiawatha, UT, which held a very special place in his heart. In 1963, they built their own home in Price, where Ardath still resides and where Ray resided at the time of his passing.

Ray was joyfully met on the other side by his parents; Peter and Martha, and his siblings; Glen, Kent, Ruth, Earl, Velda, and Lois. He is survived by his wife of 74 ½ years, Ardath; his son, Terry (companion, Terri McKendrick); daughter, Debbie Hutchings (husband, Butch); six grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many others who called him, “Grandpa,” along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. We all love and miss Ray.
