The Price City’s Culture Connection will be hosting a concert on Thursday, January 13 at 7:00 pm, with the band called Picky Out The Stingers. The concert will be streamed live on Price City’s Facebook page. Price City’s Council Member Layne Miller took time to come into Castle Country Radio to discuss the event.
Picky Out the Stingers is a four-piece, acoustic string band. They play original music in styles across the bluegrass spectrum, including newgrass, country, honkytonk and more.
This concert will take place at the Price City Auditorium located at 185 East Main Street. “I hope everybody has been to see what the auditorium looks like and see what it sounds like. I’ve been told by a lot of folks there are the best acoustics we’ve ever had,” explained Miller. The auditorium is a perfect location to host the Culture Connection concert series during the winter months.
The monthly concerts would not be possible without the close relationship with Excellence in the Community, which is a nonprofit that highlights musicians in the state. “We’ve had a partnership with them for over a year now and they help bring stuff down. They get a grant, they get money to provide the best Utah talent to rural Utah and we’re one of the first places they came over a year ago,” said Miller.
Remember if you are unable to attend the concert in person it will be made available to view on Price City’s Facebook page. “You go to the Facebook pages, Price City Facebook page, ETV Facebook page and you can see it streamed live,” said Miller. This will allow for folks to enjoy the concert in the comfort of their own homes.
Next month’s Culture Connection will be held on Thursday, February 10, featuring local sensation, Angela Murray.
