Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Judy Peczuh, passed away surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer on January 7, 2022.
Judy was born on April 14, 1943 in Boulder, Colorado to John and Olga (Cattani) Cartwright. She grew up in Dragerton, Utah and lived there until her marriage to Frank James Peczuh in 1961. They spent their lives together in their home in Price, Utah.
Judy was a devout and faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church and loved being part of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish. Known for being sweet and kind, she was a gracious, private and dignified woman. A friend to many, she was loved dearly by those who knew her best. She was generous and loved to bake for her family. Most of all, she loved her husband, Frank. Their marriage was a wonderful example of faith, service and selflessness to all who were blessed to be around them.
Judy, along with her husband Frank, started a printing company in Price that has blessed generations of their family. She and Frank had three sons: Frank (Brenda), Timothy (Tamie) and Mark (Elizabeth). These sons blessed her with eight grandchildren: Erin, Kellie, Daniel, David, Katie, Michael, Marisa and Ana. Her grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren were her source of joy and purpose.
She is survived by her sons and their families and also by her siblings Pat (Joe) Hanke, Claudia Armstrong, Thomas (Cindy) Cartwright, David (Suzanne) Cartwright, Wayne (Donna) Cartwright, Elizabeth Moran, Rose (Bob) Austin, Mike (Kathy) Peczuh and Emily Shelley.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband – Frank, her parents – John and Olga Cartwright, her great-grandson Daniel Frank Peczuh, Jr, siblings Shirley Peak, Barbara Thompson, John Cartwright, Jr., father and mother-in-law John and Mary Peczuh, brother-in-law John Peczuh Jr. and sister-in-law Mary Ann Peczuh.
The family expresses their gratitude for those who cared for Judy over her final months. The staff at Community Nursing Services were all very kind and helpful, but especially Meladee and Sheri. We are also grateful for the wise and kind care provided to mom by Dr. Etzel. Most of all, we appreciate our angel aunt, Claudia, who moved in and lived with mom through all the ups and downs of her illness. Our words are insufficient in expressing our sincere appreciation.
