The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) posts the Rating Percentage Index (RPI) daily on their website for most high school activities. These numbers are then used in the state championship tournaments to seed the teams for the playoffs.

The RPI is a mathematical equation that ranks teams by the strength of their schedule and is based on three different parameters: the teams winning percentage , their opponents winning percentage and their opponents opponents winning percentage.  The equation gives each team a percentage and then those numbers are used to rank each team throughout the season. With the playoffs coming up in February teams can get an idea as to whom they may be playing when the time comes.

Panguitch is the No.1 seed in 1A, followed by Piute, Bryce Valley, Manilla and Diamond Ranch Academy.

The Pinnacle Panther boys sit at No. 19 with a record of 4-6. Coming off a 55-41 loss to Wendover, the Panthers will head back to the court Tuesday to face the Monticello Buckaroos.

Green River is sitting in the No.22 spot.  The Pirates are carrying a 1-11 record this season and are coming off a loss Friday night to Whitehorse. They will head back to the court on Friday to face Pinnacle in Price.

The Grantsville Cowboys are currently the No. 1 team in 3A. Morgan, North Sanpete, Ben Lomond and Juan Diego Catholic make up the top five.

Carbon sits at the No. 15 with a 4-7 record. Carbon defeated American Leadership Academy last Friday 75-68 on the road. they will begin region play on Wednesday when they travel to Moab to take on the Grand County Red Devils.

The Emery Spartans occupy the No. 16 Spot with a record of 3-9. The Spartans took down the then No.6 Manti Templars in Castle Dale Friday night 46-43, the loss dropped Manti three spots to No.9.  Emery will also start region play on Wednesday as they travel to Richfield to face the Wildcats.
