The Dinos were riding a two game win streak heading into the contest on Friday night with the Canyon View Falcons at home. Things were pointing toward a third straight win as they headed into the locker room up by seven at the half.  Unfortunately, Carbon came out flat in the third and fell behind in the fourth losing 66-63.

Carbon took care of business last week on the road against American Leadership 75-68, then they turned around on Wednesday of this week traveling to Moab against Grand and picked up their first region win of the season 67-52.

The contest with Canyon View started out with the Dinos taking the early lead in the first quarter going up by seven. In the second quarter the Dinos and the Falcons played even.

In the third, Canyon View made their move putting 20 points on the board and pulling level with the Dinos at 49. Late in the fourth, Jackson Griffeth had an opportunity with a possible game tying three that would fall just short and send Carbon to its first region loss of the season and eighth overall.

Griffeth and Rylan Hart both scored 15 in the contest, Hart also pulled down seven rebounds. Chet Anderson found the basket for 12 points, he also collected three assists and two rebounds and Jordan Fossat dropped 10 points and seven boards in the loss.

The Dinos sit at 5-8 this season and 1-1 in region play. They also find themselves in the No. 15 spot in the UHSAA RPI.

Next week will be a good measuring stick for Carbon.

On Wednesday they will travel to Richfield to take on the No.14 Wildcats.

Then on Friday night the Emery Spartans come to Price, when these two teams get together no matter what the sport it is always fun.

You will be able to catch all the action for both games on KRPX 95.3 The Peak.
