On January 26, 2022 John Dee Lamb, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born May 17, 1937 in Lehi, Utah to Udell and Faye Lamb. As a young boy, John worked every summer at the family saw mill alongside his brother, Virgil. He graduated from Carbon High School in 1955, and married Judy Mancina Lamb on January 17th 1959.

John and Judy lived in several places during the early years of their marriage while he pursued his career in finance, until they settled back home in Price, UT to raise their five kids. John started Lamb’s Distributing in 1975, and worked to grow it every day. He provided for his family, and was an example to his children and grandchildren, all of whom worked with him at one point or another at Lamb’s Distributing – even if it was just sampling candy. If he wasn’t working, John was enjoying time with his family, cheering on the Utah Jazz, gambling with his bride in Wendover, or waiting on the National Finals Rodeo to start! John always supported Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. He and Judy ran Saturday Night Bingo for many years, and volunteered at the famous Catholic School Carnival annually. Many have fond memories of pulling a sucker from their fish booth.

Anybody who knew him, knew John could fix anything, and make something out of nothing. The family will remember him as their taco chef, the pinata spinner on the 4th of July, and the boat driver on those sunny, Scofield days. Just as Judy’s parting gifts to her family were her lessons of love and loyalty, John’s were hard work and dedication.

He is survived by his five children: Jeff and Mary Lamb (Draper, Utah), J-Dee and Carl Gramlich (Price, Utah), Rafe and Stephanie Lamb (Green River, Wyoming), Jason and Sara Lamb (South Jordan, Utah), Joe Lamb (Draper, Utah), his 13 Grandchildren: Jonathon and Danielle Lamb, Anna and Sean Grube, Elyse and Zack Mansir, Ali and Kyle Goracke, Zeke and Lauren Lamb, Mason Gramlich, Michael Lamb, Daniel Lamb, Natalie Lamb, Jessica Lamb, Grace Lamb, Walker Lamb, and Tucker Lamb, who brought great joy to his life, as well as his 13 great-grandchildren: Paisley Gramlich, Jake Lamb, Brooklyn Grube, Evelyn Lamb, Luke Mansir, Bailey Grube, Gentry Goracke, Eli Mansir, Ramsey Goracke, Morgan Lamb, Jackson Grube, Henley Goracke and two sweet great-grandbabies on the way. John also leaves behind his siblings: Connie and Steve Christopher, Ellen Lamb, Marilyn Hildebrand, Paul and Marie Mancina, as well as many special nieces, nephews and cousins. John is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lamb, his parents, Udell and Faye Lamb, and his brother, Virgil Lamb.
