Tied at 48 with 1:16 left in the fourth, the Dinos and the Spartans were ready for the game to go down to the wire Thursday night in Price.  They did not disappoint the fans in attendance as the two teams battled back and forth until a Madi Orth layup put Carbon up for good, winning the contest 51-48.

Madi Orth ended with 15 and Sydney Orth 14 , but no points were bigger than Sydney’s free throw with :31 seconds left to put the Dinos up by three. With the win Carbon ends the regular season with a 12-8 record, 2-4 in region play.

Emery led early in the game taking a 24-21 lead in to the locker room at halftime, in the third, the game was still played very tight with the biggest lead by either team coming as Carbon went up by four early in the quarter.

In the fourth, the two teams would trade buckets with neither team wanting to go away, two free throws by Baylee Jacobson would tie the game at 48. With time running out and Carbon up 51-48 a three point try by Jacobson was blocked by Madi Orth as time expired, moving Emery to 16-5 overall and 4-2 in region play.

Tambrie Tuttle dropped in 18 for the Lady Spartans on 5-14 shooting with seven rebounds. Jacobson added 14 and Tatum Tanner 11.

On Saturday the Utah High School Activities Association will release the final RPI for the season and both Carbon and Emery should receive a first round bye according to their records.
