Saturday morning the Utah High School Activities Association released the final RPI rankings for the season as well as the bracket for the upcoming 3A State Championships that begin Feb. 16.

The RPI is a mathematical equation that ranks teams by the strength of their schedule and is based on three different parameters: the teams winning percentage , their opponents winning percentage and their opponents opponents winning percentage.  The equation gives each team a percentage and then those numbers are used to rank each team throughout the season.

Carbon, who ended the regular season at 10-10, after their 56-49 win on Friday night over Emery, finished the season in the No. 14 spot in the RPI. They will face the No. 19 Judge Memorial Bulldogs with a record of 6-15, on Wednesday at home at 7. If they win this contest, they will travel to No. 3 Grantsville on Friday, February 19, for a game that is scheduled to begin at 1. Both games will be available on KRPX 95.3 The Peak and can be stream at castlecountryradio.com.

Emery found themselves in the No.17 spot when the rankings came out, they ended with a record of 6-14 . Their first contest will be on the road at No.16 Providence Hall at their gym in Herriman on Wednesday at 7 as well. If Emery gets past them, the Spartans will face the No.1 seed Layton Christian Academy on Friday at 1. Both of Emery’s games will be available on KOAL 107.3 FM or 750 AM, you can stream the games live at castlecountryradio.com.

If the Dinos and Spartans can move out of the first two rounds they will then move on to the final rounds, that will take place on the campus of Weber State University Feb. 24-26.
