The USU Extension – Emery County is hosting a Vape Prevention Parent/Guardian Webinar on Tuesday, March 1 at 6:00 pm via Zoom. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Health & Wellness Prevention Coordinator, Aspyn Benson to discuss all the details.
“Our area has one of the highest rates of youth reported vaping in the State of Utah. So it definitely is a big issue,” stated Benson. That is why USU Extension is helping sponsor these free Parent/Guardian Webinars for the both Carbon and Emery Counties. This is to share the dangers of vaping in youth and assist in opening up the lines of communication to discuss those dangers with your youth. This webinar is recommended for youth 5th through 12th grade.
“This Vape Prevention webinar is free to all the participants. It includes a free swag bag with all sorts of fun USU swag and a $12.00 gift certificate R-Pizza Place over in Castle Dale. So some pretty exciting things,” stated Benson. The gift certificate is perfect so individuals can go grab dinner before the scheduled webinar begins at 6:00 pm.
“You can get registered on our website at https://extension.usu.edu/be-epic/ under the events tap and you can also find us on Facebook and https://www.eventbrite.com/ “ said Benson. Further information about the webinar can be found by calling the USU Extension Emery County at (435) 381-3535 or stop by their office at 75 East Main Street, Room #114 in Castle Dale.
