
Coming off a win at home over Union on Tuesday, the Dinos headed back out on the road to face the Tooele Buffaloes on Wednesday. Playing the fifth 5A team since since last Friday the Dinos spread 10 hits across seven innings putting up six runs and taking the win 6-2.
Camden Wilson pitched six scoreless innings relying on his teammates to back him up as he surrendered six hits, Dallyn Oneil came in to finish off the Buffaloes, getting the final two outs of the contest.
The Dinos got on the board in the first inning when Wyatt Falk hit a double to right field scoring Keaton Rich, who reached on a single into center. Later in the inning Falk would cross the plate thanks to a Chet Anderson single.
Both teams bats went quiet until the top of the fifth when Carbon would put up one run in the fifth and again in the sixth.
In the top of the seventh the Dinos scored two more times, once when Keaton Rich scored off a Jordan Fossat double. Two batters later Quade Henrie hit a single that allowed Fossat to score.
Fossat went 2-3 in the game with an RBI and two runs, Jacob Vasquez was 2-3 in the contest as well for the Dinos, who put back-to-back wins together moving their record to 2-4.
Carbon will head back out on the road Friday to face another team from the 5A ranks the Bountiful Redhawks.
Bountiful ended last season 18-11 falling to Maple Mountain in the third round of the state playoffs. Led by head coach Clark Stringfellow who is entering his 27th season, the Redhawks are returning seven players from last season.
The two teams will face-off at 3 p.m. on Friday.
The Dinos will be back on their home field on Tuesday when they welcome Judge Memorial.
