The Price Boys & Girls Club is an after-school program in the area that helps supervise students after-school. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Director, Quakee Tabone to talk about what is new at the club.

“We’ve got some really cool stuff going on right now. The kids have a Goblin Valley field trip planned for Spring Break. We have a wave pool trip at the end of this month for the teens. We’re pretty excited, we’ve got some really fun things going on,” stated Tabone. More details about both field trips will come as the events get closer.

Every day the organization makes it a point to help students with their school work when they first arrive at the club. “We just rearranged our juniors area so we now have a room dedicated specifically to Power Hour and sit-down activities. We’ve got everything that you possibly need to do their homework and complete their assignments and make sure their grades are staying up,” stated Tabone. This new space has allowed for officials to assist students with homework easier and in a more controlled environment.

Once the after-school program ends this year in May they will begin to prepare for their summer program. “So our last day is the day after the last day of school, so its that Friday, I think school ends on a Thursday. But then our summer dates, we will be closed for two weeks to get us all prepped and ready to go. Then our summer dates will begin on June 13, and then it will run for eight weeks until August 5,” stated Tabone. The summer program features tons of outdoor activities for students to enjoy during the summer months such as visits to the wave pool, museum and other outdoor events.

The club will offer summer registration in April to current members before they open it up to the public. “Summer registration we’re really excited to register the kids this summer. So we are going to open it up to our current members and give them a chance to sign-up. That will run from April 11 through April 14, and then we’ll give new members a chance the following week, it will run April 18 through April 22,” explained Tabone. Any parents that would like to sign-up their child for the Price Boys & Girls Club may stop by their office at 60 East 100 North or call them at (435) 637-6066.
