
Thursday afternoon the Dinos soccer team continued it’s region schedule as they welcomed the Grand County Red Devils to town. Coming off a win over Canyon View in Cedar City, Carbon took to the field unable to find the back of the net in the first half then regrouped and came back to score three times and take the 3-1 win.
Grand was a powerhouse last year with a perfect 8-0 record in region play. This year they have a new head coach and sit at 2-3 overall and 2-1 in region.
The Red Devils were the first ones to put points up in the opening half of play. In the second half the Dinos came out like a team on a mission, holding Grand scoreless and finding the back of the net three times to take the victory.
Maxence Trikilis, Miguel Ordonez and Luke Brady did all the scoring for Carbon, Ordonez had two assists and Zac Chappell earned one.
The Dinos now move to 4-4 overall and setting their region mark at 3-1.
Carbon has six games remaining on the schedule and only two of them are non-region. The first round of the playoffs will start on April 30 and the initial RPI will be released on April 1.
There are two home games next week for the Dinos, starting on Thursday when they will host the Richfield Wildcats, this will be the final regular season meeting for the two squads. On March 15 in Richfield, Carbon came away with the 3-1 win.
Then on Friday, the Summit Academy Bears come to town. This will be time these two squads have met.
Game time for both contests will be 4 p.m..
