The Emery softball team earned its sixth straight win Friday as they welcomed the Canyon View Falcons to Huntington on Friday. Aspen Taylor and Brynlei Luke each went yard in the Spartans 7-3 win.
Emery hasn’t lost a game since falling to Bonneville on March 18 at a tournament in St. George and since then have outscored their opponents 70-18.
The Lady Spartans held the Falcons scoreless until the top of the fifth but by then Emery had already put up seven runs, six from the bats of Taylor, who went 2-4 with three RBI’s and Luke who was 1-3 with three RBI’s.
Cambrie Jensen earned her third win in the season, going seven innings giving up three runs (one earned), on nine hits with six strikeouts.
Emery has a busy week ahead as they have three games on the schedule this week with Richfield, Manti and Carbon.
First up is a meeting on the road with the Richfield Wildcats. The Wildcats have struggled a little this season sitting at a 6-6 record, they are coming off a 21-1 loss against Carbon on Friday.
Thursday will see the Lady Spartans travel to Manti, the 3A state runner-up last season. Manti is sitting at 4-8 and their last match-up was a win over South Summit.
The Lady Dinos will meet up with Emery in Huntington on Friday at 3:30. Carbon is sitting at 9-3 and 1-0 in region play, this will be the first meeting against these two teams this season.
