On Sunday, April 3rd, the Kiwanis Club of Price will be holding its Annual Radio Auction on Castle Country Radio stations. This will be the 56th year of doing the radio auction, that helps raise money to support local kids in the Carbon and Emery area.
Nick Tatton, President of the Kiwanis Club stopped in to talk about this years auction and tell us some of the events that the Kiwanis Club does for the kids in our area.
“The Kiwanis Club of Price will be doing our Annual Radio Auction on Sunday, April 3rd. The funds we raise during the auction help with many of the events that the Kiwanis Club does for the kids in our area including Kids Day in the Park, Sub for Santa and scholarships for graduating high school seniors. The radio auction will kick off around 9:00 am and run all day until all of the items have been auctioned off. “
Nick said that without the generous businesses and those who donate items to the auction, it wouldn’t be a success.
“The people and businesses that donate stuff is what really make this auction a success as well as those people who purchase the items. It makes it very rewarding to be able to give back to the kids in our area from helping with hearing aids and glasses and our big event of Kids Day in the Park in September. It’s really cool when you get a hand-written note from a 5 or 6 year kid saying thanks for kids day in the park. We will have many many items for sale including food certificates, certificates for personal services, lawn and garden and automotive products; all kinds of stuff gets donated. You need to listen all day to find something that you’re looking to buy. We’ll start at 9:00 am and go til we’re all out of stuff to sell.”
