PRICE-Georgia Diane Mapes Quenan passed away in comfort at the home of her son on March 27, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. She was 84.
Georgia was born to George and Bernice Mapes in San Francisco, California on October 16, 1937. She grew up in the North Beach neighborhood of the city and in the shadow of Candlestick Park before moving to Utah.
Georgia spent her time in the selfless service to others. She was part of the original group of EMTs for the Carbon County ambulance in the late 1970s. At the age of 40 she completed her GED and graduated from the College of Eastern Utah nursing program to work as an LPN at the old Carbon County Hospital. She was always helping, giving, and assisting others to the extent that she would go without first. She loved speaking to family and friends on the phone and social media, baking the best banana nut bread, and although not recently, she loved to ride motorcycles, drive a stock car and even a semi-truck. She was always ready to share a joke and a laugh with you. She truly was an example of selfless sacrifice.
Georgia is survived by her husband, Roger Quenan, Price; son, Joe (ReNae) Christman, Price; daughters, Marie Christman, Murray, Tammy Bartel, Lincoln, Nebraska, Kim (Todd) Hughes, Bountiful; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernice; granddaughter, Jessica Christman; twin brothers, Pat and Mike.
We will cherish her memory, and Georgia’s life will be remembered at a graveside service to be determined at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Georgia online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
