Josh White with the Green River Dirt Bike Rally was interviewed by phone to talk about their upcoming event happening on April 14. This event will have vendors, a workshop and introductions to the different riding trails in the area.
Josh White talked about how he wished something like this event was around when he was younger. “I’ve ridden off and on my whole life. I got a motorcycle and did a little bit of trail riding and then really got into trail riding and luckily my brother moved back to town after college and we started a trail guiding business. We run Adventure Hideaway Guided Trail Tours in the Swell and it’s the best job in the whole world. There’s nothing more fun than taking people out on a dirt bike.”
Josh states with our area being so big that they haven’t even seen all of the trails available in the Swell and up in the mountains. “Our permits cover 1.5 million acres, which is the size of Delaware. So we’re still finding new stuff every year that we’ve never seen before.”
This is the second year of the Green River Dirt Bike Rally. The event kicks off at 4:00 pm on Thursday April 14 and goes through Saturday April 16. If you register by April 1, your cost is only $30 includes a T-Shirt, Gaia GPS premium subscription, guided rides as well other perks including the chance to win prizes. Registration after April 1 will cost you $40. You must be registered to go on any of the guided rides.
In addition to the rally there will also be a photo contest.
“We’re doing a new event this year, a photo contest where we have 56 locations out in the desert that we’ve chosen and every location has a certain number of points and riders who take pictures at those scenic locations; which they include arches, overlooks, abandoned mines and that kind of stuff.”
Everyone is welcomed to attend the event to see the vendors in Green River at the Hub for no fee. There will also be a training session Saturday morning on an obstacle course to improve your riding. To register and for more information go to greenriverdirtbikerally.com
