“Joe”
HUNTINGTON- Joe Luther, age 68, passed peacefully at home with his loving wife and children by his side on March 25, 2022.
Joe was born on December 18, 1953 to Thomas and Louise Luther. He was the baby brother of the family.
Joe had a love for animals and for the outdoors. He leaves behind his beloved Jack Russell Chihuahua mix “Rocky” and will be meeting his English Boxer “Chopper” on the rainbow bridge. Joe loved fly fishing and hand tying all his flies. He also enjoyed the time spent camping with his family. Joe and Vola spent 10 years on the road as cross-country team truck drivers, before Joe took a job in the oil fields in Texas. After another 10-year run, Joe decided to retire and settle in Huntington, Utah with his wife. Joe had a big heart and was always willing to be there for anyone, and was always willing to give the shirt off his back. Joe was never one to be the center of attention and would just go with the flow and ride out the wave. He will be deeply missed by all.
Joe is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vola; children, Carie Luther, Huntington, UT, Jeremiah (Shantilly) Luther, Omak, WA, Roy (Lisa) Mitchell, Edgewood, NM, and Mary Scoville (Russell Bromley), Price, UT; siblings, Gerry (Libby) Luther, Magnolia, TX, Chris (Anita) Luther, Mathis, TX; brothers-in-law, David Ward and Steven Ward; sister-in-law, Donna Litton; 21 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Thomas Gerald Luther and Louise Leslie Rees; in-laws, Law Orval and Judy Ward; children, Clint Pappas and Joshua Luther; daughter-in-law, Lori Fausett; brother, Leslie Luther; brother-in-law, Wade Ward; and sisters-in-law, Andy Jensen and Shannon Ward.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Symbii Home Health and nurse Tammy for the compassionate care for Joe.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Huntington, Utah.
